It's Pumpkin Fest Time!

When I think of fall, I like to reminisce about the trips we took to Cooper Farm Market with our kids for the annual ‘Pumpkin Fest’ where we’d spend countless hours walking through the maze of pumpkins with its range of colors and sizes, always looking for the perfect one to bring home and carve into a magical creation (well…perhaps the finished product didn’t always look like we had imagined). We’d stay awhile and walk through the corn maze and take funny pictures with the ‘cut outs’ around the Farm. There would be games in the lawn and hay rides for the kids. It was always a special day and a great way to welcome the change of seasons.
This year is a bit different – no kids (because now they’re young adults) and no hay rides (because of the pandemic), but still a spectacular array of pumpkins and gourds to choose from. A ton of apples – Honeycrisp, Gala and Mac and lots of seasonal veggies and cider are available. They’re stocked with canned goods and harvest decorations. And like always, Bob (Cooper) is there to greet you with a friendly smile, and to offer you a painted orange wagon to pull through the field to help transport the heavier pumpkins.
In spite of the pandemic and with careful restrictions in place, Bob and his wife Donna have opened their doors and invite the community to discover the magic of fall. Cooper Farm Market is located at 484 Cemetery Road, Falls Creek, PA 15840. They’re open daily from 10am-6pm through the end of October. And best of all….. starting this weekend (the 26th), baked goods will be available on the weekends!! http://www.cooperfarmmarket.net
