Discover the Fascinating World of Fungi!
Looking for a unique outdoor adventure? Head to Kinzua Bridge State Park Complex* on Sunday, July 12, from Noon–3:00 PM for an educational and fun Guided Mushroom Walk led by members of the Western Pennsylvania Mushroom Club.
Meet at the picnic area near the playground before setting out on the scenic General Kane Trail, where you'll learn about mushroom identification, foraging safety, and fascinating fungi from WPMC Mycologist Garrett Taylor and mushroom identifiers Beth Ace and Ron Hilton. Whether you're an experienced mushroom enthusiast or simply curious about the natural world, this guided walk offers something for everyone.
The hike covers approximately 1.5 miles on a relatively flat trail, though some sections may be muddy, so wear appropriate footwear and dress for the weather. Be sure to bring water and a snack to enjoy along the way.
Please note that the event may be postponed in the event of severe weather. For additional information, call 814-778-5467.
